Father of four-member family who consumed acid in Kottayam dies

KOTTAYAM: The father of a four-member family who attempted suicide by consuming acid in Brahmamangalam has also died. The deceased has been identified as Sukumaran. Sukumaran's wife Seena and elder daughter Surya died in the morning. His youngest daughter Suvarna is undergoing treatment at Kottayam Medical College Hospital. Her condition is critical. The family attempted suicide on Monday night.

Surya’s marriage was recently called off. According to police, this may have forced the family to take the extreme step.
