Law student arrested for smuggling hashish oil for New Year party

KOCHI: The police arrested a law student for trying to smuggle two kilos of hashish oil for the New Year’s party. He has been identified as Muhammed (23) of Kakkanad. He is studying law in Bengaluru. He smuggled hashish oil in the bus proceeding to Kochi from Bengaluru. Reports said that he got the stuff from Visakhapatnam. The accused was nabbed following a tip-off received by the Angamaly police.

Muhammad told police that he was only instructed to hand over the products at Edappally. Police said he was just a link in the smuggling team and more people would be held in the coming days. An investigation has been launched focusing on his phone calls.
