Girl raped during school youth festival, visuals filmed on mobile phone; youth arrested

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police have arrested a youth for molesting a minor student during school festival. Noufal, of Moosante purakkal house, a native of Ponnani Marakkadavu, was arrested on charges including POCSO.

The incident happened a year and a half ago.During school youth festival in Ponnani, the girl, who came to wash her face was raped by the accused who was hiding in the bathroom. He also recorded the rape scenes on his mobile phone. Meanwhile, the girl ran away from the accused. He recently sent the visuals to the girl who was mentally destroyed after the incident . The incident came to light when the school authorities subjected sleep deprived children to counselling.

According to police, the accused was arrested from Marakkadavu.He was produced in court and was remanded.
