Govt restores biometric punching system in offices

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Public Administration Department has ordered the restoration of biometric punching system in government, quasi-government and public sector undertakings due to a fall in Covid cases. With the advent of Covid restrictions, work-from-home systems were introduced in government and quasi-government institutions. With the easing of restrictions, punching was carried out from September 16, 2021 with the official identification card of the employees. Biometric punching was reintroduced in view of the significant reduction in Covid cases.
