NEW DELHI: Everything will be over within a span of seconds. Not even the enemies will be able to remember what happened. With the successful test-fire of BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, Indian Army’s strength has been enhanced further. The missile can strike targets in China and Pakistan within seconds. It is advantageous as it can be used in any type of weather. The missile flies at a speed of 2.8 Mach or almost three times the speed of sound. As a result, the enemy will not get enough time to retaliate. The range of the missile is reportedly be around 350 km from the original 290 km.

BrahMos supersonic missile’s target will never fail. This was evident from last day’s experiment as well. The missile’s target was a decommissioned Indian Navy ship. “The missile without warhead created a hole in the abandoned ship as it travels at speeds around 3000 kilometre per hour and is difficult to be intercepted by air defence systems," said BrahMos officials. The missile was fired from a Sukhoi fighter jet on the eastern seaboard. It can also be launched from submarines, ships and land platforms. India is developing the BrahMos missile in collaboration with Russia at BrahMos Aerospace. On March 5, the Navy had launched a long-range version of the BrahMos cruise missile from INS Chennai, which was also successful.
