PATTAMBI: Three people have been arrested on the complaint of trying to sexually abuse a 20-year-old dalit girl after posing as police. The girl a native of Kollengode was staying with her male friend at a private lodge in Pattambi.
The five-member team who were staying in the same lodge threatened and demanded money from them after posing as police. They later tried to sexually abuse her. The girl along with her male friend took the room in the lodge at Guruvayur Road near Pattambi bridge on May 2.
They tried to sexually abuse her on May 4. The people staying in the next room of the girl tried to rape and abduct her.
The police arrested Abdul Wahab (31) of Vallappuzha, Saji K Samad (35) of Mattanchery and Mohammed Fazil of Thrissur (27) on the complaint of the girl. There have been previous attempts of sexual abuse in the same lodge. The accused produced in the court have been remanded.
