DYFI student leader  killed in road accident; accident took place while she was returning after attending youth festival

VADAKARA: A college student and DYFI leader from Vadakara died in a road accident in Angamaly. The deceased has been identified as Amaya Prakash ( 20), daughter of Pandiparambu native Prakash and Bindu. Amaya was a Sanskrit student at Payyanur College.

The accident took place at 11 pm last night while Amaya was returning after taking part in the youth festival at Kalady Sanskrit University. She was hit by a speeding vehicle while she was walking through Angamaly town. Amaya, who fell on the road, was run over by another vehicle. Eyewitnesses said that both vehicles went off without stopping. Sreehari, a student from Kannur, was also injured in the accident.

Amaya was a member of the Vadakara Poovadan Gate DYFI unit committee and former unit president. KM Sachin Dev MLA expressed his condolences over the death of Amaya.
