Vigilance seizes bribe of Rs 10 lakh from excise divisional office, about Rs 2.5 lakh seized from office assistant

PALAKKAD: A bribe of around Rs 10 lakh was seized from the excise divisional office in a vigilance raid. Vigilance seized about Rs 2.4 lakh from the office assistant. The money was paid as a bribe to renew the license of a toddy shop. The money was seized from an official named Nooruddin.

Rs 6 lakhs was also seized from two shop licensees. The raid began this morning. There were reports of bribery in Chittoor in the Palakkad district. The money was seized from Palakkad during a search conducted accordingly.
