THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Extensive rains are likely to lash the state on Saturday as well. Central and northern Kerala may receive more rainfall. Yellow alert has been declared in ten districts namely Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram and Kozhikode.
The rains which began ahead of the monsoons have been continuing for a week. Authorities have warned the fishermen not to go to the sea. The ban on fishing will continue until further notice. Rains will continue in the state till May 22, said the meteorological department.
Yellow alert has been declared on Sunday in 11 districts namely Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Kannur.
