Techie dies at DJ party; liquor served at bar using fake license

CHENNAI: A 23-year-old man fell unconscious and died during a DJ party. The incident took place at a bar in VR mall in Anna Nagar, Chennai. The dead has been identified as S Praveen, a tech professional from Madipakkam, Chennai. According to preliminary conclusion, the youth died of excess consumption of liquor and drug over dose.

Praveen, who fell unconscious amid the party, was soon rushed to the hospital but could not be saved. Further details can be provided only after receiving the post-mortem report, said the police.

The party was organized by a company called Great Indian Gathering. Following information about the youth’s death, the police soon raided the place and recovered 884 liquor bottles. The police also found that the liquor was served without permission. Liquor was sold using another bar’s license. Nearly 90 underage people were served alcohol, said the police. A case has been registered against the bar.
