Girl who set herself ablaze dies in Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 19-year-old girl, who attempted suicide by setting herself ablaze, has died. The dead is Mahima Suresh, daughter of Suresh of Thiruvananthapuram Nadukkadu Olippunada Omkara and Divya. She was a second-year student of Govt Women’s Polytechnic College in Kaimanam. The incident happened Monday afternoon at 2.30 pm. Mahima was alone at home.

The locals rushed to her house after seeing smoke bellowing from the house. The front and back doors were found locked. The locals broke opened the door and entered inside. They rushed her to the hospital but her life could not be saved. She was in the kitchen. Her body is kept in the mortuary of the medical college hospital. The Naruvamoodu police have registered a case. Malavika Suresh is her sister.
