Youths perform dangerous stunts on bikes, circulate video; narrow escape from accident

KOLLAM: A four-member gang of youths were seen racing and performing dangerous stunts on bikes at Valiyazheekkal Bridge in Kollam. During the stunts, the youths had a narrow escape from hitting a car. The videos of the incident were shared on social media by the youths themselves. Soon after the visuals surfaced, the Ochira police launched an investigation into the incident. A bike has been identified to be of Ernakulam registration. An active investigation is being conducted to find the owner, said the police.

Last day, the motor vehicles department had fined the owner and driver of a scooter for driving dangerously in front of a bus in Chittoor, Palakkad. A case was also registered for driving without a license and not wearing helmet. The scooter is registered in the name of Anitha, a native of Valara. The scooter was driven by Anitha’s father.
