PATNA: Two people, alleged to have terrorist links, were arrested by the Bihar police from the capital city of Patna. The police claimed to have busted a potential terror module in the area. According to India Today reports, the duo was planning to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit on July 12, said the police.

The Intelligence Bureau had received information about a terrorist module operating in the Phulwari Sharif area. Following which, two people were arrested in a raid on July 11. The arrested has been identified as Mohammad Jallauddin and Athar Parvez. The police have found that they were being trained in Phulwari Sharif, 15 days ahead of Modi’s visit. They held meetings on July 6 and 7 to plot against Modi. During the raid, the police recovered documents titled ‘2047 India Towards Rule of Islamic India’ and 25 other Popular Front of India (PFI) pamphlets.

The investigation team said that many youths from states like Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal come to the area to take training in terror plotting. The arrested duo had also received money funding from many Islamic countries, including Pakistan, Bangladesh and Turkey, for anti-national activities.
