KOZHIKODE: Opposition leader VD Satheesan on Friday said that the party will strongly oppose the move to jail Youth Congress leader Farseen Majeed for protesting against the Chief Minister on a plane. "The Chief Minister said in the Assembly that there are 19 cases against Farseen Majeed. 12 of these cases are frivolous cases of protesting against restrictions during the Covid period, many of which have ended. In that case, is the government ready to impose KAAPA against the SFI leader who has 40 criminal cases. All the 16 cases against him are for attacking other students with weapons. Three cases are for attempt to murder, one each for assault and desecration of women. The government which did not impose KAAPA against SFI leader with such huge criminal cases is imposing kappa against Farseen with trivial petty cases", Satheesan said.
"The Chief Minister should remember that this is not Stalin's Russia to impose KAAPA for black flag protest", he added.
