Home department is a failure, Chief Minister should step down; strong criticism against government in CPI Alappuzha District Conference

ALAPPUZHA: Severe criticism raised against the government in CPI Alappuzha district conference. The Home department and Industries department became the subject of much criticism. The Home department is a huge failure and Chief Pinarayi Vijayan should resign from the charge of Home department, demanded the representatives in the conference. Government's intervention in black sand mining, crisis in district's industrial sector, Excel Glass factory issue and problems in coir sector were criticised as insufficient.

Another criticism raised in the conference was that the Industries Department is closing the industries established by T V Thomas and the Industries Minister has been a complete failure in the coir sector. In the district conference, they demanded that P Rajeev should resign from the Coir department and criticised that labourers can die by hanging due to coir production. Another allegation leveled against the Industries Department is that the Excel Glass factory was sold for scrap price.
