Two crushed to death after iron sheet falls off lorry in Thrissur

THRISSUR: Two motorists were killed allegedly after being crushed under a roll of iron sheet that fell on them from the lorry. The dead have been identified as Muhammadali and Shaji, natives of Akalad in Thrissur. The accident happened Friday morning near the Akalad School at Punnayurkulam in Thrissur.

The roll of iron sheet tumbled from the lorry and fell on them who were behind on a scooter. Both died on the spot itself. The lorry with Malappuram registration was laden with iron sheets. The driver fled from the place soon after the incident. Initial reports said the sheet was being carried without any safety. The driver is yet to be traced.
