Thiruvananthapuram Corporation holds emergency meeting on stray dog menace; all stray dogs will be vaccinated as per action plan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A special council meeting was held to find a permanent solution to the increasing stray dog menace within the limits of the Thiruvananthapuram corporation. The matter was presented in the meeting as per the instruction of 32 council members. Following the meeting, the corporation announced an intensive action plan, including the vaccination of dogs, to control stray dogs.

As per the plan, 15 animal hospitals in the city will be vaccinating pet dogs on September 18, 19 and 20. The Chairman of the Standing Committee on Health Affairs informed that the licenses will be distributed to the vaccinated dogs. Meanwhile, vaccination of stray dogs centred on hotspots in the wards will take place from September 25 to October 1. The corporation informed that it has procured a thousand vaccines for this purpose.
