Teacher punishes student by caning 15 times, pinches him severely; 9th class student admitted to hospital

JAIPUR: A student studying in the ninth standard was admitted to the hospital after he was punished severely by his teacher. The student, Akash, was caned 15 times and pinched severely for not doing his homework by Ram Kiran, his teacher. The incident took place at Dr. Radhakrishnan Senior Secondary School at Borunda in Rajasthan. Akash is admitted to the hospital in Jodhpur following the attack.

The police reached the hospital and took Akash’s statement. A case has been registered against Ram Kiran, the teacher, after Akash’s father lodged a complaint. However, the police say that the injury to the student is not as serious as said in the complaint.

According to the complaint of Akash’s father, Ram Kiran is said to have caned the boy 15 times and also pinched him. Injury marks are visible on Akash’s body, as per the complaint. The boy was taken to his house by a relative and has since complained about pain in his head and ears.

The father’s complaint also states that after Akash was admitted to the hospital the school principal’s son came and demanded to withdraw the complaint.

Meanwhile, Ram Kiran has said that he did not beat the student, instead, told him to stand with his hands raised for some time.
