'I didn't select that actress after getting convinced of her acting, still not sure if she was a perfect choice', reveals Sibi Malayil

Director Sibi Malayil said that when he decided to cast actress Rekha as the heroine in 'Dasharatham', he was not sure if she was a perfect choice. In an interview given to Kaumudy Movies, he clarified that he cast Rekha with an intention of wanting a fresh face for the character.

'If 'Dasharatham' is being directed today, I haven't thought about who will replace Murali, Sukumari and Rekha. At that time, they were the most suitable actors for the roles. Rekha acted in 'Dasharatham' while doing 'Ramji Rao Speaking'. I don't know if Rekha was a perfect choice. I wanted a new actress for the role. I didn't select Rekha after watching her acting performance. An unfamiliar face was needed', said the director.
