KANNUR: It is hinted that love failure is behind the murder of the 23-year-old woman in Panoor. Vishnupriya of Panoor Vallayi Kannachan Kandi House is the victim. Reports say the accused is in custody. Dog squad has also reached the spot.

Reports that come in say the accused committed the gruesome murder as revenge for rejecting his love. Shyamjith, a native of Manantheri committed the crime. The phone records of the woman are also being examined.

Vishnupriya was alone at home at the time of the incident. The girl's grandma died four days ago. Her relatives and neighbors were in that house. Vishnupriya came home to change her clothes. Not seeing her for a long time, her mother came in search of her and then found her lying dead.

It is indicated that the accused came there knowing that there was no one in the house. A local resident said that he saw a man wearing a red T-shirt, a yellow cap and a mask near her house. Vishnupriya sustained deep cut injuries on her neck and hands. Vishnupriya was an employee of a private lab in Kannur. Her father Vinod is abroad.
