Car-borne gang kidnaps expat over financial dealings

KOZHIKODE: A car borne gang in Thamarasseri allegedly kidnapped an expatriate. Muhammed Ashraf of Avolam was kidnapped from a spot near Vezhupoor School in Thamarasseri at 9.45 pm last night. The police have taken the scooter abandoned on the road side into custody. It is suspected that a gang in Kodiyathur is behind it.

It is reported that a dispute over financial dealings is behind the kidnapping. CCTV visuals have surfaced. Muhammad Ashraf was coming home on a scooter. The visuals show the gang stopping their car across his scooter and forcibly taking him away in their car. While Ashraf was being taken in the car, another car also came there.

It is hinted that people belonging to the same gang were also in that car. Ashraf was taken away after keeping the scooter which fell on the road to one side. There were financial dealings between Ashraf's relative and the kidnappers. The police said he may have kidnapped over it.
