Rains to intensify from today, yellow alert in six districts, disaster management department responds to tsunami concerns in Kozhikode

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Meteorological Center has warned of heavy rains in Kerala from today. There is also a warning of isolated heavy rains in eastern regions. Yellow alert has been issued in six districts.

Yellow alert has been sounded in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki and Palakkad. The Central Meteorological Department has also informed that there is a possibility of rain at isolated places in all districts of Kerala in the next three hours.

Meantime, the state disaster management department said there is no need for a concern on seawater receding from Kozhikode beach. The disaster management department has clarified that the phenomenon is only a local incident and that there is no warning of an earthquake or tsunami.
