KOCHI: After the Onam bumper became a hit among the people, the department decided to scale up the Christmas – New Year bumper to Rs.25 crore. However, finally, the bumper prize is now fixed at Rs.16 crores. The ticket rate for the bumper ticket is Rs.400.
The lot will be taken on 19 January. 90 lakh tickets will be printed in 10 series.
For three years, the prize money for Christmas – New Year bumper was Rs.12 crores and the ticket rate was Rs.300.
The sale of the Christmas – New Year bumper will begin on the 20th of this month, on the same day that the winner of the Pooja bumper is to be announced. The winner of the Christmas – New Year bumper will get Rs.10.08 crores after tax deduction.
Out of the total 47,40,000 tickets printed last year for Christmas – New Year bumper, only 4,000 were left.
The second prize is Rs.10 lakhs for 10 people and the third prize is Rs.1 lakh for 20 people.
