THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Exam results have not been published for six months. No degree certificates even after applying for it through fast track by paying Rs.3000. Jobs lost in foreign lands because of failure in getting degree certificates on time.

Soon after the Governor appointed Dr. Ciza Thomas as temporary Vice Chancellor of Technological University, there have been hundreds of emails and phone calls of complaints. Technological University has been in disarray for quite some time.

Many of the bright students get campus selection just when they are in the final semester. However, degree certificates are not given even after one year. This has put the employment of these students in jeopardy and they face termination at their companies.

Ciza Thomas has made it clear that her priority is to deal with the issues of delay in providing exam results, publishing results of revaluation, and the delay in providing degree certificates on time. She was speaking to Kerala Kaumudi after assuming office.

She said that the lives of students cannot be played with. If the results are not published on time, the students cannot go for higher studies in institutions like IIT, and NIT. Ruining their one year is really cruel. If there is delay in conducting exams and result announcements, then students will go to other states for education.

The VC said that action will be taken to provide certificates immediately to those who are working in Gulf and other countries.

Those who need certificates quickly for higher education or jobs, used to get the certificates through fast track after paying Rs.300. However, after the removal of Dr. MS Rajasree, the fast track system is not accepting any more new application.

Hundreds of applications to receive degree certificates are there. Though the VC asked for the details of the pleas, the exam controller was not at the house. Though the VC had asked someone from the section to explain it to him, the employees did not respond much.
