One killed, three injured as car carrying college students overturns in Kochi

KOCHI: One person was killed after the car carrying college students overturned in Moovattupuzha. The accident happened Tuesday morning near Nirmala College on Moovattupuzha Thodupuzha Road. The car overturned after losing control. Six students of Al Azhar College of Arts and Science in Thodupuzha were in the car. Initial reports said over speeding is the cause of the accident.

The fire force reached the spot and those in the car were taken out after breaking open the vehicle. Ayush Gopi, a native of Puthenkurish in Ernakulam lost his life. Though he was rushed to the hospital, his life could not be saved. The condition of three who sustained injuries are serious but the hospital authorities said they are out of danger. They have been admitted at Kolenchery Medical College.
