Man sentenced to 107 years rigorous imprisonment for torturing mentally challenged daughter

PATHANAMTHITTA: The Pathanamthitta POCSO court has sentenced a man to 107 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 4 lakh for sexually and physically assaulting his mentally challenged girl. The accused sexually and physically abused the daughter while she was under his care after her mother abandoned her.

The incident came to light after the girl informed about the incident to some of her relatives. Following this, the child's relatives and teachers filed a complaint with the police and a case was registered against the father. During the medical examination, it was found that the accused brutally tortured the child with a drilling machine. Apart from this, he also subjected her to sexual abuse.
