Covid cases surge not only in China but also in Japan; 456 deaths in single day, officials call it eighth wave

TOKYO: A recent report claimed that Japan is reporting a rise in Covid cases after China and the United States. 456 deaths were reported in a single day in the country. This is the highest death toll recorded in a single day in Japan. Thousands of people have died of Covid within a month. 24,45,542 Covid cases have been reported since Thursday. 20,720 cases were reported in Tokyo alone.

7688 Covid deaths were reported in Japan in December. Officials said that Japan is witnessing the eighth wave and the spread of Covid has been increasing sharply in the country since November.
