Nine injured in stampede due to Diwali rush at Bandra railway station

MUMBAI: Nine people have been injured in the stampede at Bandra Terminus in Mumbai. The stampede occurred due to the festive rush before Diwali. The condition of seven is stable and that of the remaining two are critical.

The injured have been admitted to the hospital. The reason for the accident was the shortage of trains and the rush before Diwali. The incident happened at 5.56 am at platform number 1 ahead of the departure of Bandra-Gorakhpur Express. The visuals of the incident have surfaced.


Shabir Abdul Rahman (40), Parameshwar Sukhdar Gupta (28), Ravindra Harihar Chuma (30), Ramsevak Ravindra Prasad Prajapati (29), Sanjay Thilakram Kanke (27), Divyanshu Yogendra Yadav (18), Muhammad Shariq Shaikh (25), Indrajit Sahani (19) and Noor Muhammad Sheikh (18) sustained injuries.
