Punnapra Appachan made Mammootty jealous; actor who once made the megastar wait

AMBALAPUZHA: Actor Mammootty's autobiography Chamayangalillathe mentiones his experiences with Punnapra Appachan. "When I was running around with a desire to act, Anubhavangal Paalichakal gave me a chance to act with Sathyan sir by speaking dialogues. I was only twenty-three or twenty-four years old at that time. Once, I noticed a man standing near Sethumadhavan sir asking for a role. I asked who that man was. Then someone said it was Punnapra Appachan. I wished I had at least gotten the role Punnapra Appachan was getting..."

Punnapra Appachan later talked about this: - ''I remember a scene in that movie where Mammootty comes running. But when the movie came out, it wasn't there. Later, we acted together in the movie Venicile Vyapari. It was a fasting period. I was also fasting. We got to know each other and talk to each other. I played the Chief Minister in the movie 'The King'. It was a good experience. Even Mammootty waited for me because I was late in reaching there by train."
