MUMBAI: Bumrah's health creating a crisis for India with just one month left for the ICC Champions Trophy. It is still undecided whether Bumrah will participate in the upcoming matches in Pakistan and UAE in February. According to Times of India, Bumrah needs complete bedrest to recover from the injury. Bumrah was the man of the series in the Border Gavaskar Trophy, leading India in two matches and taking 32 wickets. He was ICC's Player of the Month for December.

Bumrah was under the shadow of injury in the last Test when he was in such good form. He has been plagued by muscle soreness and swelling. Doctors have advised Bumrah to stay on bed rest at home. It is reported that BCCI is not in a hurry to solve Bumrah's problem quickly. Bumrah has been ruled out for the England series but it is currently reported that Bumrah's injury is taking longer than expected to heal. He is supposed to be at the BCCI's training centre in Bengaluru, but it is not clear when that will be.

Another top pace bowler, Mohammed Shami, has been sidelined for a long time due to injury. He will join the Indian team for the England series. India's first match in the ICC Champions Trophy is against Bangladesh on February 20.
