Nehra's son bursts into tears over Gujarat's loss, followed by Gill's sister

MOHALI: The Eliminator match between the Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians in Mohali was marked by some emotional moments. Despite starting strong, Gujarat Titans collapsed under Mumbai Indians' bowling attack.

A video of Shubman Gill's sister Shahneel and Gujarat head coach Ashish Nehra's son breaking down in tears over Gujarat's defeat is now going viral on social media. Though those around tried to console him, the young boy was deeply affected by the heartbreak of his father’s team getting knocked out. The emotional response wasn’t limited to Nehra’s son alone — Shubman Gill’s sister Shahneel also broke down in tears.

Gujarat Titans exited the 2025 IPL season with a shocking defeat. Many in the crowd couldn’t hold back their tears as they witnessed Gujarat’s loss. After maintaining the top position and displaying strong dominance in the early part of the season, Gujarat Titans suffered three consecutive losses toward the end. Batting second in the match, Gujarat faltered early. The dismissal of captain Shubman Gill by Trent Boult was particularly heartbreaking for the fans.
