NEW DELHI: Pakistan is reportedly considering boycotting the T20 World Cup in India next month. The Pakistan Cricket Board is considering boycotting the group stage matches against India or withdrawing from the tournament altogether. The issue will be discussed in an upcoming meeting between PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi and Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
Naqvi announced that the final decision regarding the national team's participation in the 2026 T20 World Cup rests with the government, specifically pending Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's return from abroad. Meanwhile, some media outlets reported, quoting ICC officials, that Pakistan will face serious consequences if it withdraws from the tournament.
Bangladesh, which announced that it would not send its team to India due to security reasons, was expelled from the tournament by the ICC. Scotland was included instead. Pakistan's boycott threat followed.
