AHMEDABAD: The 18th season of IPL is approaching its final. Royal Challengers Bangalore have qualified for the final of the coveted title that is yet to be reached. Mumbai Indians are on the verge of the final after defeating Gujarat Titans in the Eliminator. Bengaluru will face the winners of the Punjab Kings x Mumbai Indians clash, in the final on June 3.

Many fans, including players like Ravichandran Ashwin, have said that RCB will never want to face Mumbai Indians, who have a better record in the IPL final. Mumbai has played in six finals so far. (2010,2013,2015,2017,2019,2020) Out of these, Mumbai has returned with the cup every time except 2010. This is the reason why RCB fans do not want Mumbai to enter the final.

However, there are also many RCB fans who want to defeat the IPL giants itself and win the title they have been waiting for since the beginning of the IPL. On the other hand, one fact that worries Mumbai Indians fans is that Mumbai has never qualified for the final in any season in which they had to play the Eliminator. The history that Mumbai fans do not want to remember is that they have lost in the Eliminator or Qualifier 2 and returned.

Only once in the history of IPL has a team that has had to play the Eliminator won the trophy. That record belongs to Sunrisers Hyderabad, the winners of the 2016 season. It was RCB that lost in the final that year. Therefore, fans of both teams are equally worried and hopeful whether any of this history will be repeated or broken this time.
