COLOMBO: The much-awaited group stage match between India and Pakistan in the T20 World Cup will be played in Colombo today. Pakistan had earlier threatened to boycott the match, but later withdrew the threat and agreed to play. The match will begin at 7 pm.
Following the controversy during the last Asia Cup, fans are keenly watching to see whether the captains of both teams will shake hands before the game. India captain Suryakumar Yadav confirmed that Abhishek Sharma, who was unwell earlier, is fit to play. This means Malayali player Sanju Samson is unlikely to get a chance in today’s match. India has won the last five T20 matches played against Pakistan.
