KOLLAM: The Kollam Vigilance Court has granted bail to Tantri Kandararu Rajeevaru in the Sabarimala gold theft case. The verdict is on the bail pleas filed in the door frames and Dwarapalaka idols cases. The special investigation team had argued that the Tantri was involved in the financial transactions related to the Sabarimala gold theft. However, the defense argued that as Tantri, he had only given the orders of God and that the Tantri is not guilty of any of the crimes charged against the other accused in the devaswom board. The bail was granted considering this.
The Tantri was granted bail 41 days after his arrest. He is the sixth accused to be granted bail in the Sabarimala gold theft case. During the arguments in the bail application, the investigation team had presented crucial evidence regarding the acquisition of property by the Tantri and his wife. The investigation team found that both have huge unaccounted investments. The prosecution has demanded a detailed investigation into the accused's financial source, saying that it is a mystery. However, the Tantri claimed that he was only involved in ritual matters and has no role in the gold theft.
