KOZHIKODE: A young man had a frightening experience while travelling at night through the Thamarassery Ghat Road after a python entered his scooter. The snake was found inside the scooter of Naufal Manakkattupoyil, a native of Kunduthodu near Thottilpalam. He was stranded on the road for nearly three and a half hours following the incident. It happened around 9:30 pm on Friday.

Naufal was on his way from Thottilpalam to his wife’s house in Tharuvana, Wayanad. When he reached near the Churam viewpoint, he saw a snake crossing the road and suddenly applied the brakes in panic. The scooter skidded and fell, leaving him injured. When he got up and tried to move the scooter, he was shocked to see the snake crawling into the body of the vehicle.

Locals who reached the spot called a snake catcher, but by then the snake had disappeared inside the scooter. As repeated attempts to remove it failed, the locals decided to dismantle the scooter piece by piece. Finally, the python was captured after removing the body parts. Naufal was able to continue his journey only after the snake was safely removed around 1 am. He works at a chicken stall in Parakkadavu, Kuttiady.
