TEXAS: A small plane crashed into a highway in the United States, killing two people. Two people, who have not been identified, were pronounced dead at the scene. Both were killed in a massive fire that broke out when the plane hit a truck and trailers. The accident occurred around 1:30 pm Sunday near Hicks Air Field in Tarrant County, Texas. Authorities also said that five people, including a child, were injured in the accident. The plane, which lost control, fell sharply and slid along the pavement, hitting a parked truck and trailers.
The collision caused a loud explosion and a plume of black smoke to rise for miles. The plane crashed and caught fire with a huge explosion. The black smoke and flames rising from the scene were visible from afar. Witnesses confirmed that the smoke rose about 100 feet into the air.
The National Transportation Safety Board has identified the crash as a Beechcraft King Air C90 twin-engine aircraft. The fire department confirmed that the aircraft had taken off from Alliance Airport in Fort Worth. About 10 trailers were severely damaged in the crash. Five of the injured are being treated. Firefighters have brought the fire under control, authorities said.
