UDF withdraws hartal in Perinthalmanna, accused involved in attacking League office arrested

MALAPPURAM: The accused involved in attacking the office of the Muslim League in Perinthalmanna constituency has been arrested. With this, the 12-hour hartal announced by the UDF against the attack has been withdrawn. The decision was withdrawn soon after the arrest considering the difficulties of the people.

The dawn to dusk hartal was called in Perinthalmanna city. Stones were pelted at the office of the League in Perinthalmanna and there was a call for hartal following that. The League has accused the CPM of being behind the incident.

A team led by Najeeb Kanthapuram MLA had besieged the road in Perinthalmanna in protest against the attack. Stones were pelted at the office of the CPM on Sunday evening. Stones were pelted at the League office when the CPM activists were protesting against the attack. Following this, the League workers organized a massive protest and called for a hartal today.
