WASHINGTON: Charlie Kirk (31), a conservative activist and key aide of US President Donald Trump, was shot to death. He was shot to death while speaking during a campus event held at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.
He was also the co-founder of an organization Turning Point USA. Authorities said no one has been arrested in the incident and that an investigation is underway. The news of Charlie Kirk's death was announced on Trump's social media page.
'The great and even legendary Charlie Kirk is dead. No one understood or had the heart of the youth in the United States of America better than Charlie,' Trump posted on Truth Social. Trump ordered American flags to be flown at half-mast. Video footage of Charlie speaking at Utah Valley University was released. Those present at the event later saw blood flowing down the left side of his neck after the sound of gunfire. The person who played a major role in bringing youngsters closer to Trump in the last election has been killed.
