ALASKA: The crucial meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin has come to an end. The talks, which lasted for about three hours, did not result in a peace agreement. The discussions concluded without reaching an understanding on the Russia–Ukraine ceasefire issue.
Trump said that while agreements were reached on several matters, none of them were finalised into a formal deal. He added that he would speak with NATO countries soon, after which further steps would be taken.
Putin said Ukraine is a “brotherly nation” and that Russia has several concerns, one of them being the Zelenskyy government. He noted that progress had been made in the peace talks and confirmed that discussions would continue. Putin also invited Trump to visit Moscow. However, neither Trump nor Putin disclosed exactly what issues they had agreed upon.
