
MECCA: Reports say 42 Umrah pilgrims were charred to death after a bus carrying them collided with a tanker lorry carrying fuel. The accident happened Monday morning 1.30 am at Al Mufrihat near Mecca in Saudi Arabia. The pilgrims were from Hyderabad. There were 20 women and 11 children in the bus.
The accident happened when they were heading towards Madinah after completing their pilgrimage in Mecca. Since it was early in the morning, most of the passengers were asleep. Authorities are collecting data on how many people were involved in the accident and how many survived. Rescue operations are progressing. One person has been rescued. The bodies could not be identified as the vehicle was completely burned.
