Expat in UAE for 20 years invested in gold biscuits and won gold Mercedes 

ABU DHABI: An expatriate who invested 15,000 dirhams (Rs 3 lakh) in gold biscuits received a gold Mercedes over 50 times his investment. The jackpot was won by Sumith, a Sri Lankan who works at a call center in Al Habtoor. He has been working in the UAE for 20 years.

Sumith bought gold biscuits from Dubai's Gold District as a safe investment. It was his first visit to the Dubai Gold District. He also received gift vouchers from here. One voucher is given for every 500 dirhams spent. Since he bought gold biscuits for 15,000 dirhams, he received 30 vouchers. Sumith received a gold Mercedes as a gift for one of the vouchers.

Sumith revealed that he had clicked a photo with the car while returning from the shop, but never thought to ever win it. A few days later, got a phone call in the form of the goddess of fortune while sleeping after work. Sumith said that he couldn't believe it at first. Several people advised him to sell the car and deposit the money in his account, but Sumith said that he has decided to use the car as it is special for him.
