DUBAI: The newly revised petrol and diesel prices in the UAE will bring relief to expatriates, including Malayalis. The UAE has reduced fuel prices for the month of November. Since prices had increased in October, the drop this month comes as welcome news for expats. The new rates will take effect from Friday midnight.
The revised price of Super 98 petrol is now AED 2.63, a decrease from last month’s AED 2.77. Special 95 petrol has dropped from AED 2.66 to AED 2.51, and E-Plus 91 petrol has fallen from AED 2.58 to AED 2.44. The new diesel rate stands at AED 2.67, down from AED 2.71 in October. The price cuts come in response to a fall in global crude oil prices.
In the UAE, petrol prices are adjusted every month based on changes in global crude oil prices. The Fuel Price Committee decides and announces the new rates each month. Taxi fares and similar charges in the UAE are also adjusted according to fuel price changes. The system of revising fuel prices based on international market trends has been in place since 2015.
