RIYADH: Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Sheikh, scholar and the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, died on Tuesday. He was 82. The Royal Court announced the news of the death early this morning. Abdulaziz was the third Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia. He served as the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Scholars, and Chairman of the General Presidency for Islamic Research and Fatwa, with the rank of minister.
The funeral prayer will be held at the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh after Asr prayers today. King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has ordered prayers to be held for Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Sheikh in the Grand Mosque in Mecca, the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, and mosques across the country.
