ED questions Navya Nair; found that IRS officer Sachin Sawant had gifted her gold ornaments

MUMBAI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has questioned actress Navya Nair. The ED officials questioned the actress on the allegation that the IRS officer Sachin Sawant, who was recently arrested for the illegal acquisition of property, has close links with the actress. ED officials said that Sachin Sawant had gifted gold ornaments to Navya Nair.

ED officials examined the phone details of both Sachin Sawant and Navya. It is reported that Sawant had gone to Kochi 8-10 times to meet the actress. However, the actress clarified that they are only friends and there is no intimacy beyond that. The information regarding this is mentioned in the charge sheet filed by the ED in the court in connection with the case. Investigation in the case is ongoing.

Sachin Sawant was arrested in a case related to the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002. Sachin, Additional Commissioner of Customs, was arrested by the ED on June 27 from Lucknow.
