SYDNEY: Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese (62) and his long-term partner Jodie Haydon (46) married on Saturday. Albanese became the first sitting prime minister to marry while in office. Haydon works in the financial services sector. The wedding took place in a private ceremony in the gardens of Albanese's official residence, 'The Lodge', in Canberra.
Albanese's pet dog, Toto, came on stage with a wedding ring. Over the years, Haydon had attended many events with Albanese. They were together during the 2022 election campaign and even when his Labour Party won a landslide victory last May. Albanese met Haydon at a business dinner in Melbourne five years ago. This is Albanese's second marriage. His first wife was Labour Party leader Carmel Tebbutt. The couple separated in 2019 after 19 years of marriage. They have a son, Nathan. Nathan was also present at the wedding ceremony.
