Hinduja Group Chairman Gopichand Hinduja passes away aged 85

NEW DELHI: Hinduja Group Chairman and Indian-origin UK businessman Gopichand Hinduja (85) passed away. The death was announced on Tuesday by his friend and British MP Rami Ranger. Rami Ranger said in a public statement that the death of Gopichand Paramanand Hinduja, also known as GP Hinduja, has left a huge void.

"Dear friends, with a heavy heart, I share with you the tragic loss of our beloved friend, Mr GP Hinduja, who has departed for his heavenly abode. He was one of the most gracious, humble, and loyal friends. His passing marks the end of an era, as he was truly a well-wisher of the community and a guiding force. I was fortunate to know him over the years. His qualities were immense. His void cannot be filled," Rami Ranger said in a statement.

G P Hinduja has topped the UK Sunday Times Rich List for seven consecutive years. Born in India in 1940, Gopichand was the chairman of Hinduja Automotive Limited, a trading company run by Gopichand Hinduja and his brother Srichand Hinduja. It later became a multi-billion-dollar company.
