TEL AVIV: Israel said Iran has made a big mistake and they will have to pay a heavy price for it. Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said whoever attacks them will be attacked and will attack Iran. Iran fired more than 100 ballistic missiles at Tel Aviv, the capital of Israel, last night. Israel claimed that many of these were destroyed in the air. No casualties were reported in Israel.
Iran's Revolutionary Guard and Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that the missiles were fired. Iran's missiles flew over Jordan. Iran's President Masoud Pesashkian responded after the attack saying that Israel was able to retaliate heavily. Iran claimed that 90 percent of the missiles hit their targets. Meantime, Iran demanded that India talk to Israel in case of conflict. The Iranian ambassador said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should ask Israel to end the conflict.
India has clarified its position on Israel's attack in the Middle East that any country's response should be based on international humanitarian law. "We consider what happened on October 7 as a terrorist attack. Israel has to respond to that. However, any response by any country must take international humanitarian law into account. Do not infringe on the rights of the public.
We are concerned about the potential for conflict to widen, not just in Lebanon, but with the Houthis, the Red Sea, and anything that happens between Iran and Israel. In times like these, the importance of communication should be understood. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar stated that India is ready to exchange messages with each other.
