Jaick has assets of Rs 2.06 crore, liabilities of over Rs 7 lakh; only Rs 4000 in hand

KOTTAYAM: Jaick C Thomas, the LDF candidate in Puthuppally, has assets worth Rs 2.06 crore. He has a deposit of Rs 1.07 lakh in the account. According to the affidavit submitted to the Election Commission, rent from shop rooms in Manarkkad panchayat is his main source of income.

Jaick has Rs 4,000 cash on hand, whereas Geethu, his wife, has Rs 2000. He has Rs 1.07 lakhs deposited in five bank accounts, including a joint account. There are assets worth Rs Rs 5.55 lakh, including Rs 7082 and 100 grams of gold, in the name of Jaick's wife. The main assets are land in Kottayam, Velloor, and Manarkkad villages and buildings in Manarkkad panchayat. The value of these assets is 2.06 crores. He has a liability of 7.11 lakhs through personal loans from banks and KSFE.

Jaick has cases against him in Chalakudy, Vallikkunam, Kottayam West, and Gandhinagar police stations. He has been charged with incitement to riot, forming gang with deadly weapons, detention of a public servant, and destruction of public property. The affidavit also states that he has not been convicted in any case.
