Mother jumps into Venniyode river with four-year-old daughter; local youth saves mother, daughter still missing

WAYANAD: A mother along with her four-year-old girl child jumped into the Venniyode River in a supposed suicide act. Venniyode native Darshana took daughter Deeksha in her arms to jump from the bridge to the river in one dastard act. A youngster who was walking the bridge at the same time spotted the act and jumped into the river and saved the mother instantly. However, the four-year-old daughter is still missing and a thorough search under the directions of the fire force and police is undergoing in the location. Sandals worn by the four-year-old had been recovered from the spot.

The NDRF has also reached the location to coordinate the search for the four-year-old missing daughter. Meanwhile, the mother has been shifted to Kozhikode medical college.
